Columbus State University was founded in 1958 is one of the famous universities in the USA. This public university which is located 100 km away from Atlanta is a member of the Georgia Public School system. The university with its headquarters in Columbus has 132-acre campus. The US News and World Report gave the 46th rank to the universities in the region. The educational instituted was started as a junior college in a hosiery mill in 1958 with the title Columbus College. Shifting of the college to the existing cite, it progressed in leaps and bounds. In 1965, it was approved by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and offered four-year bachelor’s degree programme for the first time in 1970. Columbus in 1996 the institution has been rechristened as Columbus State University on account of the reorganization of the educational institutions offering four-year degree programmes in the University System of Georgia.
