This University is located in the border region of the USA and Mexico. It was a different university set up in a diversified atmosphere. It was first called as Pan America University, but became popular as University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley after the name change with the merger of University of Pan American and University of Texas-Edinburg. The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley means new creation, new opportunities, new goals and new careers. The UTRGV which spread over the whole valley is shaping up future of students successfully. It has been contributing to improve the day-to-day life of students. The University was established in 2013 as per the Texas laws. It was historic university. It came into existence in place of the University of Brownsville and University of Pan America. It provided an opportunity to the Rio Grande Valley residents to derive benefit from the permanent university fund. The fund was established on the basis of public charity that funded the University of Texas and Texas A and M University. Students can easily choose courses suitable for their dream careers out of 120 graduate and undergraduate programmes.
